HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 08-00794 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), APPROVING THE VIRGINIA KEY BEACH PARK TRUST'S BUDGET REQUEST OF AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,762,098, IN OPERATING FUNDS, ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING 'OCTOBER 1, 2008 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2009. WHEREAS, the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust ("Trust") is a limited instrumentality of the City of Miami ("City"); and WHEREAS, the City has determined that the necessary increase in overall administrative costs related to general administration, park maintenance, museum planning and design, marketing, development, event and volunteers' costs will result in the need for $1,762,098 in General Funds for Fiscal Year 2008-2009; and WHEREAS, the Trust has requested this amount from the City's General Fund to provide the administrative staff the support to continue the progress and improvements at Virginia Key Beach Park; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Trust's budget request, of an amount not to exceed $1,762,098, attached and incorporated, in operating funds, for the Fiscal Year commencing October 1, 2008 and ending September 30, 2009, is approved. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: JULIE O. D8-00794 {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
