JUSTIFICATION:
The Department of Police and Fire Rescue require this service to augment the language
capabilities of its employees responsible for answering the 911 emergency telephone calls. The
telephone translations service not only provides with Spanish and Creole translation, it also
provides services for the myriad of languages spoken by foreign visitors to our City.
HOW IS THIS ITEM GOING TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF SERVICE TO THE
CUSTOMER / CITIZENS?
Having a variety of language services in place will enable the Department of Police and Fire
Rescue Communications to enhance the quality of service given to the diverse population of
residents and visitors of the City of Miami.
