HomeMy WebLinkAboutPre LegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-08-0198 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 08-00367 Final Action Date: 4/10/2008 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO ISSUE A REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, TO ESTABLISH A LIST COMPRISING NOT MORE THAN FIVE (5) LAW FIRMS QUALIFIED TO PROVIDE BOND COUNSEL AND DISCLOSURE COUNSEL SERVICES TO THE CITY OF MIAMI. WHEREAS, the City Attorney wishes to establish a list of qualified law firms to provide bond counsel services to the City of Miami ("City"); and WHEREAS, it is directed that the list is limited to include a maximum number of five (5) law firms; and WHEREAS, to establish such a list a Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") must be issued, whereby firms are requested to submit their qualifications for consideration; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Attorney is authorized to issue a RFQ, in substantially the attached form, to establish a list comprising not more than five (5) law firms that are qualified to provide bond counsel and disclosure counsel services to the City. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} Footnotes: File Number: 08-00367 Enactment Number: R-08-0198 {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
