Q / — /d 13 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, BY A 4/5TH VOTE, TO PURCHASE THE PARCELS INCLUDED ON THE ATTACHED LIST; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR SAID PARCELS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY. WHEREAS. pursuant to Resolution No. 01-160. adopted February 15, 2001, the City Cot Mission authorized and directed the City Manager to move forward with certain predcvelopment and project related activities, including land assembly and relocation activities; and WHEREAS, presently land assembly activities are underway and purchase offers based on two (2) appraisal reports secured by the City are being made to property owners in an effort to move the Model City Homeownership Zone Project forward; and WHEREAS, in some instances purchase offers have been made that exceed the highest of the two (2) appraisals as a result of a negotiated purchase settlement between the City and the property owner; and WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City Commission approve the City Manager's action in acquiring certain parcels that may have exceeded the highest appraised value; and WHEREAS, to date, the City has also acquired via tax deed parcels from Miami -Dade County from the "List of Lands based on the payment of all outstanding real estate taxes/liens on the subject property and, therefore, appraisals for these acquisitions were not secured"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAM[. FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference thereto and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Commission hereby approves the City Manager to acquire the properties included on the attached list. f Section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a purchase agreement for purchase of the properties included on the attached list, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney_ Section 4. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shalt become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
