Subject: PDM Project PDMC-022 - City of Miami NE 71st Street Storm Sewer Project
Purpose of Item:
'Adopt a Resolution accepting an agreement between the. City of Miami Department of Fire -Rescue
and the State of Florida, Division of Emergency Management ("DEM") in the amount of $393,666.
The required twenty-five (25%) percent grant match is available from the City of Miami Capital
Improvement Project B-50690 "NE 71 Street Storm Sewer Project" funds from the Stormwater Utility
Trust Fund in an amount not to exceed $131,222 for a total amount of $524,888.
Background Information:
As a Pre -Disaster Mitigation Grant Program project, the City of Miami proposes to improve the
drainage area referred to as the N.E. 71st Street Storm Water System. The proposed project is located
between N. E. 72nd Street and N. E. 69th Street in Miami, Florida. The City of Miami will install a
pipe collection system, five (5) drainage wells, pump station (s) and force main piping to evacuate
water throughout outfall (s) to Biscayne Bay. The completed construction project will minimize
recurring flooding and reduced repetitive flood loss to properties.
