This grant provides funding for identification, review and processing of cold case homicide biological evidence to obtain DNA profiles of possible offenders or suspects. To process a large amount of evidence, we are contracting with two labs that specialize in DNA analysis. HOW IS THIS ITEM GOING TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF SERVICE TO THE CUSTOMER / CITIZENS? The processing of biological evidence from cold case homicides, to yield DNA profiles that can be searched on an offender database, is now an essential tool in solving homicide cases that have come to a dead end and have little chance of being solved. Our contract with these labs will be under the same conditions as the Miami -Dade contract providing us with competitive pricing, excellent reputation and competence. IS THIS THE LOWEST BID?
