SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT (See instruction on reverse) I The City of Miami Police Department currently has 1,479 homicide cold cases. The department seeks to review, prioritize, examine and evaluate these cases in an effort to identify physical evidence with the potential to yield DNA that can be submitted for testing with the objective of 1 obtaining a complete profile that can be entered into CODIS. The Miami Police Department will use federal funding to increase solvability of their backlog of homicide cases, identify possible links to other homicides inside and outside of their jurisdiction, and ultimately prosecute a greater number of these cases.
