classification from PR (Parks and Recreation) to C-1
(Restricted Commercial).

attachment(s) amending page No. 34, of the Zoning Atlas
of Ordinance No. 11000, as amended, the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Miami, Article 4, Section 401,
Schedule of District Regulations, by changing the zoning
classification from PR (Parks and Recreation) to C-1
(Restricted Commercial), for the properties located at
approximately 1702 and 1714 West Flagler Street, Miami,
Florida; making findings; containing a severability clause;
and providing for an effective date. [Commissioner Joe

BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS

CITY COMMISSION
The proposed amendment is to change the zoning
designation to C-1 (Restricted Commercial).
Recommended approval to City Commission on May 21,
2008 by a vote of 6-2. Also recommended to the City
Commission that the existing park known as the "Plaza de
la Comunidad", located in the Florida Department of
Transportation (FDOT) right of way from West Flagler
Street at the North of lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, remain
designated PR "Parks and Recreation" by a vote of 8-0.
Passed First Reading on June 26, 2008.
