HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 08-00850 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), RATIFYING THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING, AMENDING ARTICLES 10 AND 43 OF THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AND THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS, AFL-CIO, LOCAL 587, FOR OCTOBER 1, 2007 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2010, TO INCREASE THE MAXIMUM PARTICIPATION ALLOWABLE IN THE FORWARD DEFERRED RETIREMENT OPTION PROGRAM (DROP), FROM 48 MONTHS TO 54 MONTHS AND TO ADDRESS THE EFFECT ON PROMOTIONS ACCORDINGLY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Memorandum of Understanding, amending Articles 10 and 43 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Miami, Florida, and the International Association of Firefighters, AFL-CIO, Local 587, for October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2010, is ratified, thus increasing the maximum participation allowable in the Forward Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP), from 48 months to 54 months and addressing the effect on promotions accordingly. Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: JULIE O. BRU CITY ATTORNEY Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resblution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
