A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
GRANTING TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF GREATER MIAMI, INC.
("HABITAT") AN EXTENSION OF TIME UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2008 TO
COMMENCE CONSTRUCTION ON THE PROPERTIES LISTED AND LEGALLY
DESCRIBED ON EXHIBIT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED (THE .
"PROPERTIES"); STATING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
RELATED TO THE CONVEYANCE OF TITLE TO SUCH PROPERTIES; FURTHER
GRANTING HABITAT AN EXTENSION UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2009 TO
COMPLETE CONSTRUCTION ON SAID PROPERTIES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENT(S) FOR SAID
PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0228, adopted April 14, 2005, the Miami City
Commission approved the conveyance of the City -owned vacant parcels located at 6950 Northwest
4th Avenue, 7818 Northwest Miami Place and 7830 Northwest Miami Place, Miami, Florida, to Habitat
for Humanity of Greater Miami, Inc., a Florida not -for -profit corporation ("Habitat"), for the development
of affordable housing opportunities for eligible low and moderate income persons; and
WHEREAS, on June 15, 2006, the City of Miami ("City") conveyed the aforementioned properties
to Habitat, requiring that construction commence by June15, 2007 and be completed by December 15,
2008; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 07-0454, adopted August 1, 2007, the Miami City
Commission granted Habitat an extension of time, until December 31, 2007, to commence
construction on the properties located at 6950 Northwest 4th Avenue, 7818 Northwest Miami Place
and 7830 Northwest Miami Place, Miami, Florida, and authorized the construction of multifamily homes
on said properties, with a minimum of two houses per lot; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 07-0053, adopted January 25, 2007, the Miami City
Commission approved the conveyance of three City owned parcels of land located at 1290 Northwest
61 st Street, 1280 Northwest 61 st Street and 1272 Northwest 61 st Street, Miami, Florida, to Habitat, for
the development of affordable housing for eligible low and moderate income persons; and
WHEREAS, on October 10, 2007 the City conveyed said properties to Habitat,
requiring that construction commence by April 10, 2008 and be completed by April 10, 2009; and
WHEREAS, due to delays related to a Miami -Dade Water and Sewer Department required water
main extension agreement and required Hearing Board special exception and zoning variances,
Habitat is requesting extensions of time to commence and to complete construction on the properties
listed on Exhibit "A", attached and incorporated; and

WHEREAS, the Administration recommends granting Habitat an extension of time until December
31, 2008 to commence construction on the properties listed on Exhibit "A", and an extension of time
until December 31, 2009 to complete construction on those properties;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, Inc. ("Habitat") is granted an extension of time
until December 31, 2008 to commence construction on the properties listed on Exhibit "A", attached
and incorporated, and an extension of time until December 31, 2009 to complete construction on said
properties.
Section 3. It is the intention of the Miami City Commission that title to the properties listed on
Exhibit "A" shall be deemed to have remained in Habitat from the date of conveyance, and that the
extension of time granted herein to commence construction shall be deemed to have been made on or
before December 31, 2007 for the properties located at 6950 Northwest 4th Avenue, 7818 Northwest
Miami Place and 7830 Northwest Miami Place, Miami, Florida, and on or before April 10, 2008 for the
properties located at 1290 Northwest 61 st Street, 1280 Northwest 61 st Street and 1272 Northwest
61st Street, Miami, Florida.
Section 4. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute all necessary documents for said
purposes.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor. {2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
