JUSTIFICATION:
A Resolution establishing a new special revenue project entitled "Law Enforcement Terrorism
Prevention Program" authorizing the City Manager to accept said sub -grant from the Florida
Department of Law Enforcement.
HOW IS THIS ITEM GOING TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF SERVICE TO THE
CUSTOMER / CITIZENS?
The State of Florida Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program (LETP) is being
implemented to enhance the security of the Network Access Point (NAP) of the Americas located
in Downtown Miami. This site has been identified as critical infrastructure and a key resource
location that meets the criteria for support under Florida's Domestic Security Strategic Plan.
These grant funds are being provided for the purchase of 175 manhole devices that will be
installed in the downtown area to prevent entry into the underground tunnels and conduits by
unauthorized or unlawful personnel.
