Purpose of Item: Authorizing procurement of services from The Gordian Group, Inc. for the continuation of a Job Order Contracting (JOC) System with funding to be identified on a project reimbursable basis. Background Information: Broward County awarded a contract to The Gordian Group, Inc. for the establishment of a JOC system pursuant to Request for Letters of Interest ("RFLI") No. 20030617-0-FC-01, effective until September 30, 2009, with the option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year terms. The City of Miami desires the same services to be available as needed citywide, and therefore requests to utilize the Broward County contract. Pursuant to Section 18-111 of the City Code, the City may utilize competitively bid contracts from other government agencies to fulfill our procurement needs. This ability to "piggyback" is one of the tools the Capital Improvements Department is utilizing to increase our efficiency and improve the overall production delivery timeframe. Director-...,aiv.A1 ii Chief ��% City Manager f Page 1 of 2 ager: _ Gary Fabrikant The City is requesting to utilize the contract for the same term, condition and price, effective until September 30, 2009, with the options to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods; in a contract amount not to exceed $400,000 per year; allocating funds from various Capital Improvement Project Accounts, on an as needed basis. The JOC contract is one of the contracting methodologies that will be utilized to award construction projects where the construction budget is $5,000,000 or less.
