Subject: Authorizing procurement of services from The Gordian Group, Inc. for the continuation of a
Job Order Contracting (JOC) system.
Purpose of Item:
Authorizing procurement of services from The Gordian Group, Inc. for the continuation of a Job
Order Contracting (JOC) System with funding to be identified on a project reimbursable basis.
Background Information:
Broward County awarded a contract to The Gordian Group, Inc. for the establishment of a JOC system
pursuant to Request for Letters of Interest ("RFLI") No. 20030617-0-FC-01, effective until September
30, 2009, with the option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year terms. The City of Miami desires
the same services to be available as needed citywide, and therefore requests to utilize the Broward
County contract. Pursuant to Section 18-111 of the City Code, the City may utilize competitively bid
contracts from other government agencies to fulfill our procurement needs. This ability to "piggyback"
is one of the tools the Capital Improvements Department is utilizing to increase our efficiency and
improve the overall production delivery timeframe.
