A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE DE -OBLIGATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT FUNDS, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $419,937.85, FROM DOWNTOWN
MIAMI PARTNERSHIP, INC.; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS TO THE CITY OF MIAMI
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT 2 ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT RESERVE, AS SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A," ATTACHED AND
INCORPORATED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR SAID PURPOSE(S).
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0684, adopted November 17, 2005, the Miami City
Commission approved the transfer of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds, in the
amount of $500,000, to Downtown Miami Partnership, Inc. ("DMP"), for construction costs associated
with the rehabilitation of building exteriors as part of an Urban Neighborhood Job Creation Program in
District 2; and
WHEREAS, DMP has successfully rehabilitated the exterior of the building located at 1035 North
Miami Avenue, Miami, Florida, at a cost of $80,062.15; and
WHEREAS, on November 29, 2007, the Department of Community Development received a letter
from DMP stating that they were no longer rehabilitating buildings in District 2 due to circumstances
beyond their control and that the remaining balance of the allocated funding is not needed; and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends the de -obligation of CDBG funds, in the amount of
$419,937.85, from DMP and the allocation of said funds to the City of Miami Department of
Community Development District 2 Economic Development Reserve, as specified in Exhibit "A,"
attached and incorporated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The de -obligation of CDBG funds, in the amount of $419,937.85, from DMP and the
allocation of said funds to the City of Miami Department of Community Development District 2
Economic Development Reserve, as specified in Exhibit "A," is authorized.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute all necessary documents for said
purpose(s).
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
