Subject: Authorizing funding to the Coconut Grove Woman's Club in the amount of $50,000.
Purpose of Item:
A resolution of the Miami City Commission authorizing the issuance of a grant in the amount of
$50,000 for infrastructure improvements to the Coconut Grove Woman's Club Building.
Background Information:
The Coconut Grove Woman's Club (the "Club") has served the Coconut Grove area for over 116 years
providing programming related to promoting the family, preserving history, and supporting education
and the arts in our community. The Woman's Club has partnered with the City of Miami (the "City")
to support parks related activities in Coconut Grove. In order to help the Club to continue to carry out
its mission, the City wishes to award funds to the Club in the amount of $50,000. Funds will be
allocated from the Bayfront Park Management Trust Fund District 2 Allocation. The Budget Director
will identify the re -allocation of funds in the amount of $50,000, from a District 2 Quality of Life
Project to fund a Department of Parks related capital project in District 2
