I am writing to update you on exciting developments regarding GILEE and
ILEE. Enclosed please find a description of program highlights for 2007, the
list of 2007 sponsors, as well as a cumulative listing of sponsors since the
program's inception (note the new donor categories). Our accomplishments to
date would not have been possible without the support of our many sponsors
including our corporate partners, the law enforcement community, friends,
GILEE graduates, host countries, and Georgia State University.
GILEE & ILEE have a measurable impact and the demand for our programs
continues to grow in Georgia, around the nation and overseas. In 2007 we
offered a total of 11 programs and 2008 promises to be even busier! We are
very pleased that the effort launched in 2004 to endow a chair became a reality
last April. A $1,000,000 endowment established the Distinguished Chair of
Public Safety Partnerships at Georgia State University.
Although the endowment will secure the future of the program, the funds
generated annually will only provide about 10% of the amount needed per
year to maintain current programming level. Therefore, it is critical that we
continue our annual fund-raising efforts. Our goal for 2008 is to raise
$500,000, of which $250,000 is for annual operating expenses and $250,000 is
to establish a reserve fund for advanced program planning and special
initiatives, such as international conferences.
Please take a moment to review the enclosed information and consider making
a gift in. support of GILEE this year. Checks may be made payable to
"Georgia State University Foundation." Credit cards are also accepted.
I have attached the appropriate form (and envelope) for your convenience.
You can also visit http://wvrw2.gsu.edu/wwwgiv/give/onli.n.e.htm.l to give
securely on-line (check "OTHER" and then type in: "for GILEE"). All gifts
to GILEE through the Georgia State University Foundation are fully tax-
deductible as provided by law.
On behalf of GILEE and ILEE, thank you for your generosity and ongoing
commitment to this program. Your support truly makes a difference.
Sincerely yours,
6 p
