HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 08-00614 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE MIAMI;DADE COUNTY BUILDING BETTER COMMUNITIES GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $2,023,000, FOR THE LITTLE HAITI PARK CAPITAL PROJECT, B-38500 AND B-30295; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE PROJECT AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE; AMENDING THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS APPROPRIATIONS RESOLUTION NO. 08-0027, ADOPTED JANUARY 10, 2008, TO REFLECT THE ADDITION OF SAID FUNDS. WHEREAS, the Department of Capital Improvements ("Department") received a commitment of funds in the total amount of $7,300,000, from the Miami -Dade County Building Better. Communities General Obligation Bond "(GOB") for the Little Haiti Park Capital Project, B-38500. and B-30295 ("Project"), also known as Miami -Dade County GOB Project Number 82-70585; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 06-0321, adopted on May 25, 2006, authorized the City Manager to execute agreements with Miami -Dade County to receive funds on a reimbursement basis in various amounts for capital improvement projects funded by the Miami -Dade County Building Better Communities general obligation bond; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 06-0530, adopted on September 12, 2006, accepted the first cycle of GOB funds for the Project in the amount of $5,277,000, and authorized the City Manager to execute all necessary documents for the administration of said funds; and WHEREAS, this resolution accepts the GOB funds for the second cycle of funds in the total amount of $2,023,000, and further authorizes the City Manager to execute any required documentation related to the receipt and administration of said funds; and WHEREAS, this item amends the Capital Improvement Projects Appropriations Resolution No. 08- 0027, adopted January 10, 2008, to reflect the funds indicated above; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Resolution No. 08-0027, the Capital Project Appropriations, adopted January 10, 2008, is amended in the following particulars:{1} City of Miami Page I of 3 Printed On: 5/20/2008 File Number. 08-00614 "Resolution No. 08-0027 Section 1. The herein appropriations are hereby made for implementation of municipal capital improvements of the City of Miami ("City"), for the Fiscal Year ending September 30, 2008. The herein appropriations are hereby designated by reference to capital fund and sources of revenues. Descriptive project title and number, when included, are shown for informational purposes only. Adjustment to Appropriations Prior Appropriations FUND 35000 PARKS & RECREATION Sources: Miami -Dade County Building Better Communities - General Obligation Bonds $2,023,000 Total Fund 35000 Parks & Recreation $2,023,000 Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the Project Agreement, in substantially the attached form, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: JULIE O.
