Subject: Resolution Authorizing The City Manager to Enter into a License Agreement with Britto
Central Inc., to Manufacture and Sell Items Using the Images of the Britto Sculpture at Grapeland Park.
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into a License Agreement, for a term of five (5)
years, with Britto Central, Inc., for the specific purpose of allowing the City to manufacture and sell
items, at Grapeland Park, using certain images by artist Romero Britto from the sculpture, located in
and which was created specifically for, Grapeland park and the City further agrees to pay the sum of
$10,000 annually to the Britto Foundation during the term of this agreement.
Background Information:
The Department of Parks and Recreation recommends that the City Commission approve the attached
resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into a License Agreement with Britto Central, Inc.,
which provides the City the exclusive right to manufacture and sell items using the images from the
Britto sculpture at Grapeland Park for a five year period; in which the City further agrees to contribute
the annual sum of $10,000 to the Britto Foundation.
