HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 08-00560 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF SECTION 8 MODERATE REHABILITATION HOUSING PROGRAM FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,307,482.27 FOR RENTAL ASSISTANCE, AND IN THE AMOUNT OF $437,546.80 FOR PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION, FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $4,745,029.07, FROM FISCAL YEAR 2008 ANNUAL CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami has 416 units under Section 8 contracts; and WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development has advised the City of Miami that the projected allocation for the Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Housing Program, in the amount of $4,745,029.07, is available from Fiscal Year 2008 annual contributions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The acceptance of Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Housing Program funds, in the amount of $4,307,482.27 for rental assistance, and in the amount of $437,546.80 for program administration, for a total amount of $4,745,029.07 for Fiscal Year 2008-2009, is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the necessary documents for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: JULTE O. BRU CITY ATTORNEY City of Miami Page 1 of 2 Printed On: 5/16/2008 File Number: 08-00560 Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
