A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE
ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK
WEST AND OMNI REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT COMMUNITY
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCIES, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $343,392,
FOR A POLICE VISIBILITY PILOT PROGRAM FOR THE SOUTHEAST
OVERTOWN/PARK WEST AND OMNI REDEVELOPMENT AREAS;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE GRANT AGREEMENT
AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, on February 25, 2008, the City of Miami Police Department presented to the
Community Redevelopment Agency's Boards of Commissioners its Police Visibility Pilot Program
("Pilot Program"), an innovative community policing plan to address quality of life issues in the
Redevelopment Areas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Police Department has requested a grant, in the amount of
$343,392, to underwrite a portion of the costs associated with the implementation of this Pilot
Program; and
WHEREAS, on April 28, 2008, the Board of Commissioners of the Southeast Overtown/Park West
and Omni Community Redevelopment Agencies adopted Resolution 08-00464, authorizing the award
of a grant, in an amount not to exceed $343,392, to the City of Miami for a Camera Pilot Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to accept the grant; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 07-0165, adopted March 22, 2007, requires City Commission approval
for any grant award exceeding $25,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. A grant, acceptance in an amount not to exceed $343,392, from the Southeast
Overtown/Park West and Omni Community Redevelopment Agencies to the City of Miami for its Police
Visibility Pilot Program is authorized.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized(1) to execute all documents necessary for said

purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.{2}

{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission
