Purpose of Item: A RESOLUTION OF MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $500,000, FROM THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/PARK WEST COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, FOR A POLICE CAMERA PILOT PROGRAM FOR THE SOUTHEAST OVERTOWN/ PARK WEST REDEVELOPMENT AREA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE GRANT AGREEMENT AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE Background Information: On February 25, 2008, the City of Miami Police Department presented to the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency's Board of Commissioners its Police Camera Pilot Program ("Pilot Program"), an innovative community policing plan to address quality of life issues in the Redevelopment Areas. They requested a grant, in the amount of $500,000, to underwrite a portion of the costs associated with the implementation of this Pilot Program and the grant was awarded by the Board on April 28, 2008. City Commission approval is required for the acceptance of any grant award exceeding $25,000 Budget Impact Analysis Is this item related to revenue? Is this item an expenditure?
