Thompson City Clerk Date: April 18, 2008 Subject: Civil Service Board References: May 8, 2008 Agenda Enclosures: List of members Subject to the approval of the City Commission, the Civil Service Board was created to adopt, amend and enforce a code of rules and regulations which shall have the force and effect of law, providing for appointment and employment in all positions in the classified service, based on merit, efficiency, character, and industry; and to make investigations concerning the enforcement and effect of this article and of the rules adopted; and shall make an annual report to the Commission. • The Commission -at -Large has three (3) appointments for seats currently held by: • Miguel de la 0, incumbent, whose term will expire on May 10, 2008. • Florene L. Nichols, incumbent, whose term will expire on May 10, 2008. • Mariano Cruz, whose term will expire on May 10, 2008; further, he has served since October 26, 2000, exceeding Code term limits and would require a 5/5ths term waiver. For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum to the Agenda Office, we are requesting that this issue be placed on the May 8, 2008 Commission agenda.
