The Code Enforcement Board was created to issue orders having the force of law commanding
whatever steps are necessary to bring a Code violation into compliance.
Florida Statutes Section 162.05(2) requires members of the Code Enforcement Board to be
residents of the City of Miami. City Code Section 2-812 states that whenever possible, the
board is to consist of an architect, a businessperson, an engineer, a general contractor, a
subcontractor, and a realtor.
One (1) appointment is needed at this time:
• Commissioner Sarnoff has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by:
• Steven Baird, incumbent, whose term expires 2/7/10, has exceeded the number of
allowed absences (7 in 2008) and would require a 4/5ths waiver of attendance.
For your convenience, we have included a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy
of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the May 8, 2008
Commission agenda. This matter was deferred from the April 10, 2008 Commission agenda.
