Purpose of Item:
A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF 33RD YEAR FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000.00,
FROM THE CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PUBLIC
SERVICE RESERVE ACCOUNT FOR DISTRICT 5; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS TO FANM
AYISYEN NAN MIYAMI, INC. ("FANM"), TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE PUBLIC SERVICE
ACTIVITIES, AS SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE EXISTING
AGREEMENT(S), IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM(S), WITH SAID AGENCY,
FOR SAID PURPOSE.

Background Information:
FANM is a not -for -profit organization, located at 8325 NE 2"° Avenue, Miami, Florida, which
empowers Haitian women and their families socially, economically and facilitates their
adjustment to South Florida and the United States.
FANM offers programs that provide youth and after school services to children between the
ages of 6 and 15 years of age, residing in low to moderate income households in the City of
Miami.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 07-0314, adopted on June 12, 2007, the Miami City Commission
approved the allocation of 33`d year CDBG funding, in the amount of $28,263, to FANM to
provide public service activities beginning October 1, 2007.
Said resolution also allocated CDBG funding, in the amount of $70,296, to the City of Miami
Department of Community Development Public Service Reserve Account for District 5.
FANM requested additional funding to continue to provide public service activities as
specified in exhibit "A".
The Administration recommends the transfer of 33`d year CDBG funding, in the amount
$10,000.00, from the City of Miami Department of Community Development Public Service
Reserve Account for District 5, to FANM to continue to provide public service activities, as
specified in Exhibit "A".
