Background Information
Randall Stanley of Staxnlet, Holcombe & Associates, Inc., submitted an "Actuarial Impact Statement;
Ordinance Amendment to Extend Maximum DROP - Participation Period for Police Officers"wherein basically he indicated that if police officers' pattern of remaining in DROP stays constant, the
expansion from it to 7 yews isiunlikely to have any measurable impact on DROP entries and system
costs. Based on Mr. Stanl y's Actuarial impact Statement, the Director of Management & Budget
Mike Boudreaux indicated that there will be a minimal impact on the City's general operating budget.
However, if the participa :on behavior extended beyond 1.7 years then the cost per police officer will
become higher for the v ran! . • lice officers.
