He loved playing and running around and getting into trouble like every other child growing up. Little did he know, like many other Cubans back then that his life would completely change and he would be torn from his country in the worst way possible in the years to come. At the age of 21 he embarked with his best friend and his best friend's family and 40 others for the USA. Before reaching land, a terrible storm caught up with them and all perished but nine. Luckily and much to his dismay he was one of the survivors. An experience he never forgot. From then, he lived in Mexico and finally in various cities of the US until he met a woman for whom he stayed in Miami until his last breath. Since he moved to this wonderful city he became very much involved in its day to day activities as well as its politics. After going through his saga because of the new regime in his country he enjoyed his freedom and exercised every right the constitution of this country stated. He began a neighborhood watch program in Grapeland Heights. He always made sure our streets were kept clean from both trash and gangs. He was a political activist and was very well-known by his neighbors. Most, it is safe to say loved him dearly and others didn't as much, but being the person he was he still looked after them. Finally, God gave him the opportunity of working with the Commissioner of his district for the City of Miami. For him, this was a dream come true. He did not need the job in reality, but since he had been looking after his neighborhood for so many years he figured why not get paid for it. He loved every minute of it. During his time with the City of Miami he put forth many ideas for the betterment of his community.
