• Population we serve 60% Hispanic and 35% Haitian
• 65% are low income uninsured, the remainder are Medicaid / Medicare
• Currently we provide primary medical, dental, mental health, case management and
educational services to over 13,000 individuals and 55,000 visits annually
• Medical services provided: adult, pediatric, OB/GYN, laboratory and radiology
• We serve 600 HIV clients
• BHCC receives Federal support from the Bureau of Primary Health Care
• Over the past 7 years total Federal 330 support has increased by approximately 7%
• Over the past 2 years the number of uninsured we serve has increased by 20%
• Additional sources of revenues are vital
• Revenues from the murals provides sufficient dollars to pay annual support of a medical
team: (1) Physician, (1) Nurse, (1) Medical Assistant, (1) Lab Technician and
(1) Receptionist.
• Loss of mural revenues would require reduction of services
• Reduce ability to serve those individuals who need our services the most
