Thompson City Clerk Date: March 20, 2008 Subject: Civil Service Board References: April 10, 2008 Agenda Enclosures: List of members Subject to the approval of the City Commission, the Civil Service Board was created to adopt, amend and enforce a code of rules and regulations which shall have the force and effect of law, providing for appointment and employment in all positions in the classified service, based on merit, efficiency, character, and industry; and to make investigations concerning the enforcement and effect of this article and of the rules adopted; and shall make an annual report to the Commission. The results of the City of Miami Civil Service Board Employee Election held on Thursday, February 21st and Friday, February 22nd, 2008 are as follows: Seat No. 1 Jessica Angel-Capo 442 Terella Johnson 374 Seat No. 2 54.17(%) William Scarola (unopposed) 45.83(%) Jessica Angel-Capo was elected for Seat No. 1. William Scarola was elected for Seat No. 2. The Commission at large is requested to confirm the results of the 2008 Civil Service Board Employee Election. The term of the two elected members will begin on April 27, 2008. For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum to the Agenda Office, we are requesting that this issue be placed on the April 10, 2008 Commission agenda.
