Thompson City Clerk Subject: Code Enforcement Board References: March 13, 2008 Agenda Enclosures: List of members The Code Enforcement Board was created to issue orders having the force of law commanding whatever steps are necessary to bring a Code violation into compliance. Florida Statutes Section 162.05(2) requires members of the Code Enforcement Board to be residents of the City of Miami. City Code Section 2-812 states that whenever possible, the board is to consist of an architect, a businessperson, an engineer, a general contractor, a subcontractor, and a realtor. Two (2) appointments are needed at this time: • Commissioner Regalado has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: • Hugh Ryan, incumbent, whose term expires 7/9/10, has exceeded the number of allowed absences (4 in 2007) and would require a 4/5ths waiver of attendance. • Commission -at -Large has one (1) nomination for an At -Large seat. • Allyson Warren, incumbent, whose term expired February 11, 2008, has served as a member since 3/9/00, exceeding Code term limits, and would require a term waiver by a 5/5ths vote of the Commission For your convenience, we have included a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the March 13, 2008 Commission agenda. This matter was deferred from the February 14, 2008 Commission meeting.
