A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ACCEPTING AND APPROVING IN PRINCIPLE, THE MUSEUM PARK MASTER
PLAN, AS PREPARED BY COOPER ROBERTSON & PARTNERS LLP, AND
DEPICTED IN "EXHIBIT A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, AS A GUIDING
TOOL FOR THE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF BICENTENNIAL PARK, CREATING
AN IMAGE FOR SAID PARK'S CHARACTER AND ITS CONTINUED VITALITY.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 02-862, adopted July 25, 2002, the City Commission
designated the development option of a "Cultural Park" also known as "Museum Park Miami" as the
official design vision for Bicentennial Park; and
WHEREAS, Request For Qualifications ("RFQ") No. 03-04-022, was issued to secure a
multi -disciplinary team of consultants with demonstrated experience in waterfront landscape
architecture and urban design to create a Master Plan for Bicentennial Park/ Museum Park Miami; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0113, adopted February 24, 2005, the City
Commission, in accordance with the Evaluation Committee recommendation, authorized the City
Manager to execute a negotiated Professional Services Agreement with the firm of Cooper Robertson
& Partners LLP to provide a Master Plan for Museum Park; and
WHEREAS, upon a City Commission directive, a series of public input and information meetings
took place, concluding January 17, 2008, with a final Museum Park Master Plan presentation by
Cooper, Robertson & Partners LLP; and
WHEREAS, on February 12, 2008, the Waterfront Advisory Board, recommended its approval, in
principle, of the final draft of the Museum Park Master Plan, attached; and
WHEREAS, this Resolution has been the subject of a properly advertised public hearing before the
City Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Museum Park Master Plan, as prepared by Cooper Robertson & Partners LLP, and
depicted in "Exhibit A," attached and incorporated, is accepted and approved, in principle, as a guiding
tool for the design and future development of Bicentennial Park, creating an image for said park's
character and its continued vitality.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of

{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
