HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislation-SUB`",! tiA CAN m UTO " 817BITUTE ITEM —CA .10 tEri 3 , 2008 iviENT Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 08-00211 Final Action Date m C C A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), n ACCEPTING A DONATION OF GOODS AND SERVICES VALUED IN THE AMOUNT OF $140,000, CONSISTING OF SOLAR SYSTEM INSTALLATION ON p [Ti THE SOUTH LAWN OF CITY HALL, IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,000, AND AN L."INTERIOR LIGHTING RETROFIT OF CITY HALL, IN THE AMOUNT OF $40,000, FROM ECOMEDIA TO THE CITY OF MIAMI; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER O TO ACCEPT SAID IN -KIND DONATION AND TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY X1 DOCUMENTS TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID DONATION. 0 o = WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") recognizes that the energy management practices of the pp rn would be improved by the installation of solar panels and the retrofitting of lighting in City Hall; and WHEREAS the City Commission has determined that the public welfare of the community will be better served and advanced by encouraging and promoting sustainable environmental practices; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to promote smart, safe and environmentally responsible alternative energy management; and WHEREAS, Ecomedia has donated to the City goods and services valued in the amount of $140,000, to include construction of solar system installation and a lighting system retrofit in City Hall; and WHEREAS, these two major energy management upgrades will reduce energy consumption; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to demonstrate its commitment to environmental stewardship and smart energy management; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. A donation of goods and services valued in the amount of $140,000, consisting of solar system installation on the south lawn of City Hall, in the amount of $100,000, and an interior lighting retrofit of City Hall, in the amount of $40,000, from EcoMedia to the City, is accepted. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to accept said in -kind donation and to execute the necessary documents to implement acceptance of said donation. Section 4.
