Subject: Invitation For Bid (IFB) No.53028 - Pool Equipment and Accessories For Pools Citywide
Purpose of Item:
The nature of this item is to establish a contract for Pool Equipment and Accessories, from
Recreonics, Inc., and Water Safety Product, Inc., for an initial contract period of two (2) years with
options to renew for three (3) additional one-year periods, allocating funds from various sources of
the user department; subject to the availability of funds and budget approval at the time of need.
Background Information:
1 The Department of Parks & Recreation requires pool equipment and accessories for the purpose of
operating ten City pools annually. On October 22, 2007, the Purchasing Department issued
Invitation For Bid No. 53028. As required by the Procurement Code, the IFB was advertised and
issued on-line. The City recieved two (2) bids, one from Recreonics, Inc., and the other. from Water
Safety Product, Inc., both of which were the two (2) lowest responsive and responsible bids and are
therefore recommended for award. The estimated contract amount is $97,000 per year for an initial
two (2) year period with an option to renew for three (3) additional one-year periods with the total
contract amount for a five (5) year period not to exceed $500,000.
