FOR THE PROVISION OF REHABILITATION AND RENOVATION OF A ONE (1) STORY STRUCTURE. SCOPE OF WORK INCLUDES INTERIOR RESTORATION AND FINISHES AS INDICATED IN THE PLANS PREPARED BY JUDSON & PARTNERS ARCHITECTS AND PERMITTED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF ZONING. WHEREAS, THIS BOARD DESIRES TO ACCOMPLISH THE OBJECTIVES AS OUTLINE IN THE SCOPE OF SERVICES AS INDICATED IN THE PLANS PREPARED BY JUDSON & PARTNERS ARCHITECTS - NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF ONE ART, INC. At present, One Art has also submitted to the architect a bid package wt advertisement for approval. Upon completion of the drawing and approval of bid package, One Art will advertise for a General Contractor in August 2006. Phase 1 is expected to begin in September 1, 2006. CITY OF MIAMI FUNDING With funding provided by The City of Miami Community Development Block Grant, One Art will complete all interior and exterior finishes to the OneArtCenter, which include; flooring, partitions, lighting, plumbing, interior and exterior concrete surface repairs, as well as interior and exterior paint and finishes. One Art's program objective is a two (2)-phase project. Phase 1, which is presently underway, consists of meeting the Federal National Objective by expending all remaining balance of funds from Miami Dade Office of Community and Economic Development. The goal in this phase would be to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy. At the present time, One Art has a balance of $98,000.00, which would be allocated to complete basic electrical, plumbing, and HAVC. Upon completion of the Phase 1, which is expect to be executed by November 2006, One Art with the support of The City of Miami funding ($100,000.00), will then move forward towards completing Phase 2. This phase involves all interior and exterior finishes of the OneArtCenter. Upon completion of this phase, One Art can open its doors and begin to provide its services to the community. Attached are a list of Completed Actions Steps, along with a Scope of Work for Phase 1 and 2. ONE ART SERVICES At the present time, One Art directly serves 160 unduplicated youth ages 7-14 on an ongoing basis Monday thru Fridays from 3:00 — 6:00 pm. Students enrolled in One Art participate free after -school programs at Shadowlawn Elementary consisting of courses in music, art, dance, and drama, along with classes in martial arts, nutrition awareness, and life skills workshops. With the OneArtCenter, One Art's goal is to expand it's services to the community with the hope of providing the following: • Provide a safe haven for children in the community where they can learn about themselves through free cultural and educational programming. • Provide youth the opportunity to work with professional artists and provide artists studios for the development of their craft. • Create greater visibility for One Art and closer access to youth in the community. • Increase exhibition and performance space for One Art's youth, as well as professional local artists. • Create easier and safer access to learning through the separation of age levels into more classrooms. • Engage emerging artists, as well as professional local artists, to work with "inner-city" youth. • Implement innovative new teaching methods in order to reach and identify youngsters who possess artistic skills/inclination. • Create space for alternative activities, such as a venue for live musical concerts and other cultural and visual presentations designed to increase access to much -needed cultural activities to the general public. • Provide budding local arts organizations, cultural providers, and artists with access to the facility. • Improve the quality of life for residence in the community. OPERATIONAL SUPPORT The OneArtCenter will be operated through the generous support of The Children's Trust, The Governor's Office of Drug Control, Drug -Free Communities Program, The Miami -Dade County Cultural Affairs Council Communities Grant Program, The Miami -Dade County Affiance for Human Services, The Miami -Dade County Office of Community and Economic Development, Miami -Dade County Public Schools, The Florida Department of State Division of Cultural Affairs, Phone7, The Dade Community Foundation, Publix Supermarkets, The Hyman Kirsch Foundation, The Gloria Estefan Foundation, Ruth Anderson Foundation, First Credit Union Trust Company, Citibank, and other local businesses and private individuals.
