Subject: Resolution to authorize up to 2 7 additional staff positions on an as needed basis for the
Department of Capital Improvements.
Purpose of Item:
To authorize amendment of the table of organization and budget of the Department of Capital
Improvements (CIP) to include up to 2 7 additional staff positions. The positions would be
filled on an as needed, based on project demands and availability of funds.
Background Information:
As the budget and size of the Capital Plan grow with additional projects and revenue sources added,
the CIP staffing has remained constant. In order to keep up with the demands of the Capital Plan,
CIP requires additional staff resources. CIP charges an administrative fee for each project that it
administers and said fees fund staff positions within the department. CIP would like to use these
fees to add positions as needed. There is no fiscal impact associated with adding the requested
positions as the CIP Administrative fees will be used.
