A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ADD UP TO TWENTY-SEVEN (27) ADDITIONAL STAFF
POSITIONS TO THE TABLE OF ORGANIZATION AND THE BUDGET OF THE
DEPARTMENT OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS, ON AN AS -NEEDED BASIS,
SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has adopted an aggressive Multi -Year Capital Plan ("Plan");
and
WHEREAS, the Department of Capital Improvements ("CIP") is responsible for the administration
of the Plan; and
WHEREAS, CIP charges an administrative fee for each project that it administers and said fees
fund staff positions within the department; and
WHEREAS, in order to continue to administer the growing number of projects in the Plan, CIP
seeks additional staff positions for the department; and
WHEREAS, positions will be filled as needed as funds become available from CIP administrative
fees; and
WHEREAS, this resolution authorizes the City Manager to add up to twenty seven (27) positions to
the table of organization and the budget of CIP on an as -needed basis, subject to the availability of
funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to add up to -twenty-seven (27) additional staff
positions to the table of organization and the budget of CIP, on an as -needed basis, subject to the
availability of funds.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
