Ind NLighhot, September 18, 2007 Mr. Hector Mirabile Interim Director CD, City of Miami 444 SW 2 Avenue, 2nd Floor Miami, FL 33128 RE: Resolution transferring $52,250.61 to NANA from The Black Economic Development Coalition Inc./Tools For Change Dear Mr. Mirabile: We like to thank you for your support at September 11, 2007, Commission meeting for the Micro -Enterprise program. As you know we are funded by Community Development to provide technical assistance to Micro -Enterprise / small businesses. On January 18, 2007, NANA acquired Black Economic Development Coalition Inc./Tools For Change. The City Commissioners passed a resolution #SP1 transferring $52,250.61 previously slated to the organization because we took over their responsibility. We are requesting that the $52,250.61 be added to our FY 2007-2008 contract which will allow us the appropriate time to execute the contract and access the funding. Also, we feel that acquiring the organization was a positive step for the community which retained 2 full time jobs and allowed us to continue working on open client files. We are sure you would agree there is no way we will be able to spend the funding before September 30, 2007. Again, we thank each of you for you support, if you have any questions, please contact me at (305) 756-0605. Sincerely, Leroy Jones Executive Dire cc: Alfredo Duran, Assistant Director Lillian Blondete, Contract Compliance Manager 180 NW 62"d Street Miami, Florida 33150 Phone (305) 756-0605 Fax (305) 756-6008
