On the 26th day of June 2008, the City Commission of the City of Miami, Florida, met at its
regular meeting place in City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida, in regular
session. The meeting was called to order by Chair Joe Sanchez at 9:23 a.m., recessed at

Commissioner Sarnoff paid tribute to Michael Shapiro for his 87th birthday, wishing him

Michael Shapiro's long-standing service to the City of Miami (17 years), his outstanding
performance with the City of Miami Police Department, and his dedicated service in the U.S.
Military during World War II; and thereby proclaiming Sunday, the 29th of June 2008, as
