As authorized by the United States Departments of Justice and Treasury, "Guide to Equitable Sharing", and complying with Section 932.7055, Florida Statutes, as amended, of the Florida contraband Forfeiture Act, the monies requested will be utilized for comprehensive investigations. This allocation is necessary to replenish the main protracted account with funding for overtime, the purchase or rental of equipment and supplies, payment of confidential informants, consultant/expert services, "buy monies", and other special investigative costs. HOW IS THIS ITEM GOING TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF SERVICE TO THE CUSTOMER / CITIZENS? It is in the best interest of the community and the City of Miami to continue to fund these expenditures through monies generated as a result of seizures to help The Department of Police conduct protracted and/or complex investigations.
