A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE AMOUNT OF $295, AS FULL AND FINAL PAYMENT
TO SATISFY THE FINAL JUDGMENT OBTAINED IN THE CASE OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI VS. BETTY BATTLE IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF THE ELEVENTH JUDICIAL
CIRCUIT IN AND FOR MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, CASE NO. 88-54813 CA
09 IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,010.75 (INCLUSIVE OF INTEREST AS OF JULY 8,
2007); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY DOCUMENTS
NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") obtained a Final Judgment in the case of the City v. Betty
Battle, Case No. 88-54813 CA 09, in the amount of $3,010.75, including interest as of July 8, 2007,
due to unpaid solid waste fees provided at the property located at 1425 Northwest 56th Street, Miami,
Florida;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept payment in the amount of $295, as full
and final payment in satisfaction of the Final Judgment obtained in the case of the City of Miami vs.
Betty Battle in the Circuit Court of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in and for Miami -Dade County, Florida,
Case No. 88-54813 CA 09, in the amount of $3,010.75 (inclusive of interest as of July 8, 2007).
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute any documents necessary for said
purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable provisions of
the City Charter and Code.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
