The project will take place at Sewell Park and the total cost will be $75,250.00. The City will contribute $37,625.00 or 50% of the total project cost. These match funds are identified from Homeland Defense Bonds, Series 2, City -Wide Waterfront Improvement, B-30386. Background Information: The City of Miami has recently completed Phase I of the Sewell Park Kayak Launch Project following a 2005 initiative to meet an expressed public need for non -motorized recreational boating accessibility at Sewell Park. On March 8, 2007, a resolution was adopted authorizing the City Manager to submit a grant application to the Florida Inland Navigation District for grant funding to support Phase 11 of the Sewell Park Kayak Launch Project. On October 4, 2007, the City was noticed that said grant was awarded in an amount not to exceed $37,625.00 with a required match of $37,625.00 which is authorized and appropriated by the Department of Capital Improvements B- 30386.
