A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY CONINIISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ACCEPTING FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $200,000, CONSISTING
OF A GRANT AWARD FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, FLORIDA RECREATION DEVELOPMENT
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, FOR POOL RENOVATIONS AT MORNINGSIDE PARK
("PROJECT"); AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT
OF $528, 408, CONSISTING OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S REQUIRED MATCHING
FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $200,000, AND $328,408, FOR THE PROJECT,
FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT B# 30585, ENTITLED
"MORNINGSIDE PARK POOL IMPROVEMENTS;" AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE GRANT AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE
ATTACHED FORM, AND ANY NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR THE
ADMINISTRATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SAID GRANT AWARD.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") submitted a grant application to the Florida Department of
Environmental Protection, Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program ("FRDAP") to fund
pool renovations at Morningside Park ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, on July 1, 2007, the City was noticed that the grant was approved and awarded in an
amount not to exceed $200,000, for the Project; and
WHEREAS, the City will contribute the required cash match in the amount of $200,000; and
WHEREAS, the match is available from the Department of Capital Improvements Project B#
30585, entitled "Morningside Park Pool Improvements;" and
WHEREAS, the City will also contribute funds in the amount not to exceed $328,408, from said
bond (B# 30585) towards the Project which brings the City's total contribution to $528,408, towards the
total Project cost of $728,408; and
WHEREAS, the Project will ensure that the Morningside Park Pool facility remains a safe and
appropriate swimming facility available to City residents and children; and
WHEREAS, this item authorizes the City Manager to execute the necessary documents to accept
and administer the grant; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.

Section 2. Funds, in an amount not to exceed $200,000, consisting of a grant award FRDAP, for
the Project, are accepted.
Section 3. The allocation of funds, in the amount of $528, 408, consisting of the City's required
matching funds, in the amount of $200,000, and $328,408, for the Project, is authorized, from Capital
Improvement Project B# 30585, entitled "Morningside Park Pool Improvements."
Section 4. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the Grant Agreement, in substantially the
attached form, and any necessary documents for the administration and implementation of said grant
award.
Section 5. This grant will be appropriated by separate Resolution
Section 6. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor. {2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
