HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-07-0700City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-07-0700 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 07-01401 Final Action Date: 12/13/2007 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING THE BID RECEIVED OCTOBER 9, 2007, PURSUANT TO INVITATION FOR BIDS NO. 06-07-012, FROM METRO EXPRESS, INC., THE LOWEST RESPONSIVE AND RESPONSIBLE BIDDER, FOR THE PROJECT ENTITLED "FAIRLAWN STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENTS PHASE IIB, B-50703," IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,715,092, FOR THE SCOPE OF WORK, PLUS AN ADDITIONAL $171,509.20, OWNER CONTINGENCY, FORA TOTAL NOT TO EXCEED CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $1,886,601.20; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. B-50703, AVAILABLE FOLLOWING THE APPROPRIATION OF STREET BONDS BY SEPARATE RESOLUTION; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the Administration received bids for construction services for the project entitled "Fairlawn Storm Sewer Improvements, Phase IIB, B-50703," pursuant to formal Invitation for Bids No. 06-07-012, issued September 6, 2007; and WHEREAS, thirteen bids were received and opened by the Office of the City Clerk on October 9, 2007, at 2:00 p.m.; and WHEREAS, Metro Express, Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder pursuant to said bids, submitted a bid in the amount of $1,715,092, for the scope of work; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to execute an Agreement, in substantially the attached form, for said purpose; and WHEREAS, funds in the total not to exceed amount of $1,886,601.20, consisting of $1,715,092, for the scope of work, plus an additional $171,509.20, owner contingency, are available from Capital Improvements Project ("CIP") B-50703, entitled "Fairlawn Storm Sewer Improvements, Phase IIB;" NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The bid received October 9, 2007, pursuant to Invitation for Bids No. 06-07-012, from Metro Express, Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, for the project entitled "Fairlawn Storm Sewer Improvements, Phase IIB, B-50703," in the amount of $1,715,092, for the scope of work, plus an additional $171,509.20, owner contingency, for a total not to exceed contract amount of $1,886,601.20, is accepted, with funds allocated from CIP Project B-50703, available following the City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 07-01401 (Version: 1) Printed On: 4/20/2017 File Number: 07-01401 Enactment Number: R-07-0700 appropriation of street bonds by separate Resolution. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute an Agreement, in substantially the attached form, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
