This document serves as a summary of inspection for the City of Miami Florida
Medtec unit 7075 that was damaged by collision.
Findings:
The vehicle had collided with a tree impacting the upper right front corner. The
impact transmitted damage across the roof line, down the right front wall and
front of the box.
The resulting damage caused the roof to separate from the wall structure where
the structural tubes are welded to the upper extrusion.
The curb side door and opening have been deformed as well as the Advanced
Life Support (ALS) cabinet and opening.
1 of 4
The right side rocker panel is collapsed and broken at the intersection of the curb
side door and the ALS cabinet.
Stresses resulting from the semi -rearward forces have causes the body mounts
to be repositioned up and rearward, and module to be tensioned out of square.
The right main tube welds have been compromised, separating completely from
the front wall section.
2 of 4
The right chassis frame member appears to have a slight downward bend at the
curb side door.
The right chassis door and 'B' pillar have been damaged, however are repairable.
Conclusion:
Repairs to the module would include the removal of the roof structure and front
wall. To accomplish this, separation of the cab and body would have to take
place as well as the interior of the unit must be removed. The likelihood of
complete body removable is high.
Once the body is loosened, reevaluation of the body tensioning would be
required to insure that square could again be achieved.
Evaluation of the chassis frame rail tensioning would determine the state of
chassis repairs.

Because of the severity of the collision and the resulting damage that had
occurred, Medtec recommends that the module be replaced.
Once the body is removed, evaluation of the chassis frame rail must be
completed to determine chassis state of repairs.
The chassis door and 'B' pillar repairs will need to be completed as part of the
repairs.
