Subject: Purchase of Medical Supplies
Purpose of Item:
The nature of this item is to establish a contract for Medical Supplies from various vendors, as listed
on the attached Award Sheet, for an initial contract period of two (2) years with the option to renew
for three (3) additional one-year periods, allocating funds from the various sources of funds of the
user department, subject to the availability of funds and budgetary approval at time of need.
Background Information:
The Purchasing Department has identified a need to establish a contract for Medical Supplies. On July
19, 2007, the Purchasing Department issued Invitation to Bid No. 34019,4. As required by the
Procurement Code, the IFB was advertised and issued on-line. Bids were due and thirteen (13) bids
were received on August 6, 2007. The various vendors listed on the attached Award Sheet submitted
the lowest responsive and responsible bids and are therefore recommended for award.
