Subject: Purchase'of Body Armor (Protective Vests)
Purpose of Item:
The nature of this item is to establish a resolution authorizing the Purchase of Body Armor (Protective
Vests) from various vendors, pursuant to the State of Florida Contract No. 680-850-05-1, effective
through February 2, 2008, subject to any extensions and/or replacement contracts as issued by the
State of Florida. Allocation funds from the various sources of funds from the user departments and
agencies, subject to availability of funds and budgetary approval at time of need.
Background Information:
The Purchasing Department has realized substantial savings utilizing the State of Florida Contract for
the Purchase of Body Armor (Protective Vests). This resolution will authorize the purchase of this
commodity citywide, on an as needed. when needed contractual basis, subject to the availability of
funds.
