A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION,
WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ALLOCATE $50,000 ANNUALLY FOR THE
NEXT FOUR YEARS FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF
$200,000, TO ASSIST THE DOWNTOWN HOTEL TASK
FORCE IN ITS SALES INITIATIVE PLAN, ATTACHED
AND INCORPORATED, FOR INCREASING CONVENTIONS
AND GENERATING TOURISM IN DOWNTOWN MIAMI,
PROVIDED THAT THE CRITERIA SET FORTH IN THE
DOWNTOWN TASK FORCE PLAN ARE MET, INCLUDING-
BUT NOT LIMITED TO; (1) PARTICIPATING HOTELS
MATCHING AT LEAST 50% OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S
CONTRIBUTION; (2) A MAXIMUM CONTRIBUTION BY
THE CITY OF $25,0000 WILL BE ALLOCATED TO ANY
ONE EVENT; AND (3) THE GREATER MIAMI
CONVENTION AND VISITOR'S BUREAU WILL PROVIDE
IN -KIND SERVICES TO SUPPORT EACH EVENT;
ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR SAID PLAN FROM THE
CITY'S NON -DEPARTMENTAL ACCOUNT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1, The. City •Manager is authorized to allocate
$50,000 annually for the next four years for a total amount of
$200,000, to assist the Downtown Hotel Task Force in its Sales
Initiative Plan, attached and incorporated, for increasing
conventions and generating tourism in Downtown Miami, provided
that the criteria set forth in the Downtown Task Force Plan are

met, including but not limited to: (1) participating hotels
matching at least SO% of the City of Miami's contribution; (2) a
maximum contribution by the City of $25,000 will be allocated to
any one event; and (3) the Greater Miami Convention and Visitor's
Bureau will provide in -kind services to support each event.
Section 3. The funds for said purpose shall be allocated
from the City's Non -Departmental Account.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption and signature of the MayorJ

If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become
effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was
passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the
City Commission.
