Subject: Purchase for Stretchers and Accessories
Purpose of Item:
The nature of this item is to establish a contract for Stretchers and Accessories from Henry Schein
Matrx Medical for an initial contract period of one (1) year with the option to renew for two (2)
additional one-year periods, allocating funds from the various sources of funds of the user department,
subject to the availability of funds and budgetary approval at time of need.
Background Information:
The Purchasing Department has identified a need to establish a contract for Stretchers and
Accessories. On August 24, 2007, the Purchasing Department issued Invitation to Bids No. 38043. As
required by the Procurement Code, the IFB was advertised and issued on-line. Bids were due,and one
(1) bid was received on September 12, 2007. Henry Schein Matrx Medical, submitted the only
responsive and responsible bid and is therefore recommended for award.
