A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT ENTITLED: "THE
CHILDREN'S TRUST GRANT FOR PARKS" AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $761,225, CONSISTING OF AN AWARD
RECEIVED FROM THE CHILDREN'S TRUST; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT SAID GRANT AWARD AND TO EXECUTE THE
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, TO
IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT AWARD; ALLOCATING SAID
FUNDS INTO THE CITY OF MIAMI'S DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION SPECIAL REVENUE ACCOUNT NO. 11550.295999.434000.0.0.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami's ("City") Department of Parks and Recreation requested funding
from the Children's Trust to support the Heart of Our Parks After School Program located at African
Square, Armbrister, Coral Gate, John Pablo Duarte, Legion, Reeves, Sandra DeLucca Developmental
Center, Shenandoah, and Williams Parks; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 06-0673, adopted on November 9, 2006, the City
Commission authorized the execution of an award package, including a Grant Award Agreement, to
accept the grant; and
WHEREAS, the City has been awarded another grant in the amount of $761,255, to continue
providing said services; and
WHEREAS, said funds in the amount of $761,225, from The Children's Trust must be
appropriated; and
WHEREAS, the City must execute an award package, including a Grant Award Agreement, to
accept the grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Project is established and resources are
appropriated as described below:

APPROPRIATION:

Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the necessary documents, in
substantially the attached form, to implement the acceptance of said grant award.
Section 4. Funds, in the amount of $761,225, are allocated to the City's Department of Parks and
Recreation Special Revenue Account No. 11550.295999.434000.0.0.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

s{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
