Subject: Resolution Establishing a New Special Revenue Project for the City's Child Day Care Food
Program in the Parks Department not to exceed $ 61,743 from a Florida Department of Health.
Purpose of Item:
Resolution Authorizing the establishment of a new Special Revenue Project entitled "Child Day Care
Food Program" and appropriating funds, in the amount of $61,743 consisting of a grant from the
Florida Department of Health ( "DOH"), authorizing the City Manager to execute the necessary
documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for the operations of the year-round food
service program for preschool aged children in our city parks. The program covers one
breakfast, one lunch and one snack per child. (Citywide)
Background Information:
The Department of Parks and Recreation has applied for and obtained a grant from the Florida
Department of Health , in the amount of $61,743, to help fund the preschool aged children's after
school food program operating in our city parks. This resolution establishes a special revenue project
for the 2007-08 program year, appropriates the funds and authorizes the City Manager to execute the
necessary documents to accept the grant.
