A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMNIISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A GRANTIAWARD FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA,
DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROACTION ("DEP"), FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
THE BAYWALK AT THE PUBLIC BOAT RAMP LOCATED ON WATSON ISLAND, IN THE -
AMOUNT OF $50,000, WITH A LOCAL MATCH PROVIDED BYTHE MIAMI PARKING
AUTHORITY, IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE A DEP AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM; IN ORDER
TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT.
WHEREAS, in October, 2004, the City of Miami ("City") submitted a proposal to the State of Florida, Department of
Environmental Protection ("DEP"), under the Coastal Zone Management Program Graht Program requesting $50,000 to aid in
funding the construction of the public boat ramp baywalk on• Watson Island; and
WHEREAS, in April, 2005, the City was nominatd bythe DEP for funding awards pending approval from the National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ("NOAA"); and
WHEREAS, the City was awarded the grantby NOAA in July, 2005, in the amount of $50,000with a cash match in the
amountof$50,000 to be proviled by the Miami Parking Authority; and
WHEREAS, it was determined that the most efficient use of this grant award was for the construction of the retaining
wall/seating for the baywalk; '

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CO?v1MISS1ON OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings found in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{ I } to accept a grant award from the DEP, for the construction of the
baywalk at the public boat ramp located on Watson Island, in the amount of $50,000, with a local match provided by the
Miami Parking Authority, in the amount of $50,000.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized (1) to execute a DEP Agreement, in substantially the attached form,
in order to implement acceptance of said grant.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2}
