This is a brief summary of agenda items that pertain to the Miami Police
Department. We are providing answers to the most commonly asked questions.
The goal of this summary is to provide the Commission with detailed information to
enhance your review and approval process.

JUSTIFICATION:
The Police Department has a need for horse feed and supplements for the Police Mounted Patrol
Unit.
HOW IS THIS ITEM GOING TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF SERVICE TO THE
CUSTOMER / CITIZENS?
The provision of horse feed and supplements are necessary to keep the horses in the Mounted
Patrol Unit nourished and healthy to assist the officers with performing their duties.

Pursuant to Bid No. 32061, bids were sent out and only one response was received for the
provision of horse feed and supplements. Finish Line Feed, Inc. submitted the only responsive
and responsible bid and was therefore recommended for award.
